donors

At 70 years old, following the loss of her husband, Gloria found herself alone with a large fortune. She could have spent the money on herself and left a will for the remainder. But Gloria is a woman who rarely chose the easy way. Accustomed to making charitable donations, she decided to increase her investment in this activity, with the aim of giving well. Becoming an engaged donor was far more motivating for her than leaving behind a simple legacy.

"Conscious of the difficulty of giving well, I contacted wise at the recommendation of my asset manager,", Gloria explained.

She demonstrated a real desire to learn and began by visiting projects that she had supported in the past and had not had the opportunity to see. She was then eager to discover new ones that might also benefit from her donations, all the while asking question upon question in order to fully understand the issues at stake.

Today, Gloria is autonomous. Once she felt confident enough, she went her own way. Working closely with the bank that introduced her to wise, she created a foundation. "We felt that we were doing something useful whilst continuing in our role as manager of our client's funds", declared her asset manager. Gloria donates ten times more than before. And is doing it very well.

wise's role
  • definition of the donor's engagement profile
  • a week of on-site training to validate the new portfolio of partner organisations
  • coordination with the asset manager

«It is essential for donors to be able to see, know and understand exactly who or what is benefiting from their donations, gestures or interventions. (...) The return is extraordinary. »
