donors

Their children approaching adulthood, Monique and Jean felt it was time to prepare them to manage their family assets. Based on their values and own life paths, their ami was two-fold. Il addition to training them to manage money their intention was also to encourage them to regularly share resources with those in need and to be attentive to each other. Consequently, they decided to teach them how to yield a profit, how to let others benefit from this and how to make joint decisions together as a family, integrating the ideas and wishes of each sibling.

"The contact between the advisors at wise and ourselves was immediately very good" confided the parents. "We shared the conviction that philanthropy can be an excellent school of life and the expression of a goal".

Making "a grand gesture" is not enough, philanthropic action should seek efficiency just like any other investment.

Jean and his family initially chose to distribute grants to underprivileged young people in neighbouring France. These were motivated young people unable to access social benefits for various reasons and unsuccessful in finding employment, due in part to their very modest social background and the fact that they lived "rough" disctricts. One of Jean and Monique's children explained that as the family is geographically dispersed, "wise introduced an Intranet platform that allows us to easily communicate despite the distance between us". Little by little this family project took form for them and the beneficiaries.

wise's role
  • definition of each child's engagement profile
  • meetings and communication management
  • selection of portfolios of partner organisations - reflecting both the family's activities and each child's identified priority
  • upport to the individual funded projects and monitoring of donations, reporting of information and photos

«It is essential for donors to be able to see, know and understand exactly who or what is benefiting from their donations, gestures or interventions. (...) The return is extraordinary. »
