Philanthropy amongst ultra high net worth individuals and family offices in Europe: The United Kingdom, Switzerland and Germany

What are the ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWI)'s experiences in philanthropy ? What type of advice and expertise do the European UHNWIs need ? Why should they base their philanthropic projects on a sound strategy ?

Three organizations aim to promote a more strategic approach to philanthropy: New Philanthropy Capital in the UK, the Bertelsmann Foundation in Germany and wise in Switzerland. Together, they have released the very first study related to these questions in Europe. They have commissioned Scopio Partnership to conduct this research with 34 donors and their family offices, each worth US$100+ Million throughout Europe.

In the UK, Germany and Switzerland, the study shows an increase in philanthropic activities from the 34 donors who give on average 5% of their personal wealth. However, these donors also expressed their frustration as they look for quality information and specialized advice throughout the process of giving. For more information:
