NOVEMBER 2009 - With a common interest to increase the awareness of financial players to responsible investment solution and promote the Swiss and Genevan financial centres as major actors in sustainable finance, this association of Geneva-based professionals sees itself as a platform to share ideas and drive action especially around philanthropy, responsible investment or even microfinance.
This organisation, created in October 2008 by a group of professionals and investors (link: www.sfgeneva.org/?page_id=25) evolving at the forefront of sustainable finance, intends to create a platform for professionals from the financial sector to accelerate progress, share knowledge and form an international movement for action in sustainable finance and responsible investment.
The organisation is involved in a wide range of activities such as Socially Responsible Investing (SRI), Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) research, microfinance, philanthropy, impact investing, corporate social responsibility and social entrepreneurship.
SFG is of the opinion that Geneva’s unique position as a centre for international organizations addressing global challenges, sustainability-focused businesses and financial services firms makes it ideal to promote excellence in this new direction of finance.
