Supporting the development of the philanthropy sector
As one of the first companies of its kind, WISE is recognized as a key player in Europe and Asia. As such, we aim at strengthening the philanthropy sector in our region through initiatives connecting donors, providing trainings and producing publications.
We believe that nowadays donors have a strong appetite to exchange in a meaningful and authentic environment. May it be with the organizations they support, or peers or other experts, we are involved in facilitating those safe spaces for exchanges.
Families led retreat
In the past, we have organized Families in Philanthropy, a unique platform for families where they can share practical experiences, ideas and concepts among peers and across different generations. It is a private meeting held exclusively for families, entrepreneurs and individual donors in an informal and exclusive surrounding. More on www.familiesinphilanthropy.org
Tailor-made trip for donors
We organize field trips to allow donors to see what impact they may have supported on the ground. These trips include visits of the organizations donors support as well as meetings with on-the-ground and local experts to understand the different issues the area is facing.
In 2013, regrouping eight private donors, we have welcomed the Annual Conference of EVPA (European Venture Philanthropy Association) attracting around 500 delegates. The event gathered was the largest conference held in Geneva dedicated to philanthropy including players from a variety of sectors, such as venture philanthropy and social investment funds, foundations, donors, advisory firms, banks, and social entrepreneurs.
We believe in exchange of experiences between peers and capacity building to help donors to become more pro-active and professional.
